Predict - Prediction of Thermodynamic and Transport Properties

PREDICT is a program for estimating pure component physical properties, where such information is not freely available. Predictions are based on molecular weight and molecular structure, with additional information such as boiling point and critical properties being used to increase the accuracy of the predictions. Fifty one state of the art methods are used. These are compiled from "Reid, Sherwood and Prausnitz," AIChE's DIPPR book and open literature, and include group contribution and corresponding states methods. Nine point properties and ten temperature dependant properties are predicted:

The documentation is extensive with recommendations on applicability of different prediction methods and their expected accuracy. There is also on screen help. Results are presented in tabular or graphical form. Output can be displayed in CGS, SI, or Imperial units, and properties are available in mass or mole units.

PREDICT also incorporates a multiple regression option for the correlation of predicted physical property data to a suitable equation, which is user definable. The data points and chosen regression curve can be presented graphically to check the accuracy of curve fitting. The standard deviation of each of the regression coefficients, and the overall correlation coefficient are calculated by the program. Calculated results can be stored on hard disk.
