========================================= NEW SOFTWARE RELEASES ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CADWORX PLANT 2005 - 3D Plant Design and Drafting Coincident with the release of Autocad 2005, COADE Inc (Houston) has announced the release of CADWorx Plant 2005. This is an upgrade for CADWorx/Pipe 2004, and will be supplied to all CADWorx users with current Maintenance. Users can also optionally upgrade to the new Professional version which includes a standalone version of CADWorx Equipment (parametric modeling of vessels, exchangers, pumps, tanks etc), a standalone version of CADWorx Steel, full Personal Isogen, Live Database interface, HVAC, and Navisworks Roamer (3D plant review and walkthrough). CADWorx Plant Prof 2005 will be priced at US$6500. However orders placed before 1st May 2005 will receive a 15% discount. CADWorx Equipment and CADWorx Steel can also be purchased separately CADWORX P&ID 2005 - Piping & Instrument Drawings This new release is an upgrade for CADWorx P&ID 2004 and will be supplied to all users with current Maintenance. Users can also optionally upgrade to the Professional version which includes the automated LOOPS module, the new CADWorx IP (Internet Publisher) module, and Live Database interface. CADWorx P&ID Professional will be priced at US$2500. However orders placed before 1st May 2004 will receive a 25% discount. STECAL 3.0 - Heat Treating of Steels This Windows based software calculates the parameters and behavioural properties of low-alloy steels, and predicts the effect of heat treating these steels. Stecal can be used to predict heat treating data such as lower critical temperature, critical point of heating, highest feasible tempering temperature, austenizing temperature, susceptability to quench cracking, and hardness obtained by heat treating. It can generate CT diagrams, IT diagrams, hardness versus tempering curves (with calculated tensile strength, yield strength and elongation values, and Jominy end-quench hardenability curves. Priced at US$350 CHEMCAD-THERM Vers 5.40 - Thermal Design and Rating of Heat Exchangers This software can be run as an add-on module to the CHEMCAD Process Flowsheet Simulator, or as a standalone program. It handles shell & tube, plate & frame, air-cooled and double-pipe heat exchangers. The exchangers can be designed for sensible heat transfer, horizontal or vertical condensers, reflux condensers, thermosyphon or forced circulation reboilers, fand alling film evaporators. Exchanger types can be TEMA, ASME, AD-Merkblatter or PD5500, and full vibration analysis is also performed. The software is available on a lease basis only. Leasing is available on an annual, monthly, or hourly basis. FREEWARE ~~~~~~~~~ TANKS is a free windows based program provided by the US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), that estimates oil storage tank emissions according to the US EPA's "Compilation of Air Pollutant Emission Factors (AP-42)". The software estimates emission of VOC's (volatile organic compounds) and HAP's (hazardous air pollutants) from fixed and floating roof storage tanks, and underground tanks. It includes a database of over 100 organic liquids, and PDF user manual.
