======================================== NEW SOFTWARE ~~~~~~~~~~~~ CHEMCAD SUITE VERSION 5.40 ========================== This is a major update to Chemstation's Process Flowsheet Simulation Suite, and includes new releases for CHEMCAD, CC-THERM, CC-REACS, CC-BATCH, and CC-DYNAMICS. All users with current Maintenance Agreements have been sent new a new CD and User Manual/s. Major changes to the software include: CHEMCAD Process Flowsheet Simulator *Meta-Blocks - allows flowsheets to be saved as "meta-blocks" which can be inserted into other flowsheets *Excel Mapping - allows Chemcad data variables to be mapped to Excel, and vice versa *Simultaneous-Modular Flowsheet Solver - optional solver method, in addition to the standard Modular-Sequential method *3-Phase Separator - additional unit operation CC-THERM Heat Exchanger Thermal Design *Optimization of number of tube passes in shell & tube exchangers *Non-Standard Dimensions for Shell & Tube Exchangers, allowing for sizes below those given in TEMA, ASME, DIN, and PD5500 *Air Cooled Heat Exchangers *Plate & Frame Heat Exchangers CC-THERM is available as a standalone software application for the rigourous thermal design of the following types of heat exchangers: Shell & Tube, Air Cooled, Plate & Frame, Double Pipe. The software can be leased on an annual, monthly, or hourly basis. Monthly lease price is US$950, and annual lease price is $6850 (1 year contract). If the user signs a 5-year prepaid lease, the annual cost drops to only $3000 per user. FLOWEL 4.0 - Flow Element Sizing ================================ Flowel has long been a leading standard in the instrumentation industry, for sizing of Orifice Plates, and other Flow Elements. Version 4.0 is being released in October, 2004, and will include the latest changes to ISO 5167, ASME MFC 14M, and AGA 10. Users who purchase Flowel before this date, will be supplied with Version 3.0g in the interim, as well as Version 4.0 when it is released. The new price of Flowel 4.0 is US$1895, but there is a special pre-release offer of 10% discount valid until 15th September, 2004. Flowel 4.0 with Property Calculator is priced at $2895. Users of Version 3.0g who have current Maintenance Agreements, can purchase the 4.0 Upgrade for $1195. Click on the Help menu and select "Get Updates". This latest build contains the long awaited floating tubesheet and kettle style reboiler designs in the Heat Exchanger module.
