CHEMCAD Process Flowsheet Simulator.  Used for process  
simulation, heat and mass balances, debottlenecking, and  
equipment design, a process flowsheet simulator is an essential  
tool for a chemical engineer.  CHEMCAD has been one of the  
world's leading simulators for over 12 years, and has comparable  

features to ASPEN, HYSIM, and PRO-II, but is much lower priced.  
With features such as solids handling, aqueous electrolyte  
systems, reactive distillation, VLE data regression etc, the  
program has found use not only in petrochemicals, but also in  
speciality chemicals, sugar, mining and power industries.  It  
has optional add-on modules for shell and tube heat exchanger  
design (CC-THERM), batch distillation (CC-BATCH), batch reactors

ETAP POWERSTATION 3.0  
Powerstation 3.0 may be used to simulate electrical power supply  

systems in power stations, oil refineries, chemical plants,  
sugar mills, paper mills etc.  Some specific items include  
Harmonics, AC, DC and AC/DC Systems, Transformers, Short Circuit  

analysis, Motor Starting, Battery Sizing, Load shedding,

PIPE-FLO for PAPER STOCK  
This piping software is used to design, analyze, and  
troubleshoot piping systems used in pulp and paper mills. It  
uses the method outlined in TAPPI TIS 0410-414 to calculate the  
pressures and flow rates throughout the system; it shows the   
interaction of pipes, pumps, and controls in a paper stock  
piping system.  Pulp suspensions are categorized by built-in  
TAPPI coefficients, and consistency values.  More detailed

Of interest to Internet browsers, the free CHEMOFFICE 5.0 NET  
PLUGIN comprises separate browser plug-ins for CHEMDRAW and  
CHEM3D.  The Chemdraw plug-in allows one to use chemical  
structures or substructures to search internet databases,  
publish chemical structures on the internet, or share drawings  
of chemical structures with colleagues on company Intranets.  

It  can be used to find the supplier of a particular chemical, and  
allow the user to purchase the chemical on-line, or view MSDS's  
or other information provided on sites such as  
http://www.chemfinder.com.  The Chem3D plug-in allows one to  
view three dimensional models  of chemical structures on the  
Internet, and also to manipulate these images in various ways.
