NEW SOFTWARE RELEASES ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CAESAR 4.50 - Pipe Stress Analysis New Build 040120 build addresses a data mapping error in both the standard output graphics as well as the ODBC export, an error saving wind/wave data, a number of 3D Graphics issues, an error with "ABS" and "SRSS" load case summations with "Z axis up", as well as other minor changes. The build may be downloaded from http://www.coade.com/fcaesar.htm CODECALC 2004 - Pressure Vessel Component Design Includes ASME 2003 Addenda updates, including Part UHX heat exchanger calculations. A new CD will be despatched to users with current Maintenance agreements, within a few days. Codecalc users with current Maintenance can upgrade to PVElite 2004 for a cost of US$2500 through 31 March 2004, after which the upgrade price increases to US$3500 ================================================================ PVELITE 2004 - ASME/PD/EN Pressure Vessel design Includes ASME 2003 Addenda updates, including Part UHX heat exchanger calculations. Heat Exchanger Tubeseheet, tube floating head information etc, can now be entered directly into PVElite, giving the program more integrated heat exchanger capability. TEMA and PD5500 rules are also supported in heat exchanger design. The new European design code EN13445 has been introduced into PVElite 2004, with calculations for Internal and External pressure, Nozzles, Cones and Rings. Because of these new features, the US$ price of PVElite has been increased by 20%. The software is now priced at US$6000, and includes 12 months of updates and support. This new build makes several corrections to the software. Download from: http://www.coade.com/fcadworx1.htm COMPRESS - ASME Pressure Vessel Design Compress Build 6224 includes ASME VIII 2003 Addenda and Part UHX heat exchanger tubesheet design (only applicable to the optional ASME Heat Exchanger module) This release on CD-ROM has been sent to all users with current Maintenance agreements. CHEMCAD 5.4 - Process Flowsheet Simulation This new release has several enhancements and additional features, and will be supplied to users with current Maintenance)in CD-ROM format in the near future. Changes have been made to User Added Data/Defaults, K-Value wizard, Excel export, thermodynamic property calculations, META blocks, compressor performance curves, three phase separator, economic feasibility studies, and equilibrium reactor. Also updated are the CHEMCAD add-on modules CC-THERM (now includes air cooler and plate and frame heat exchanger design), CC-BATCH, CC-DYNAMICS, and CC-REACS, and PIPING NETWORKS. AFT FATHOM 6.0 - Incompressible Flow Calculations Soon to be released. Fathom 6.0 will include the ability to calculate energy costs based on the pump(s) power and a specified energy cost. Fathom may be effectively used to determine energy costs and study the effects of different operating configurations or do trade- off studies of, for example, replacing a constant speed pump drive with a variable speed drive. This energy cost calculation capability is further enhanced when used with one or more of the optional, add-on modules that will be available with Fathom 6.0. AFT Fathom 6.0 XTS (eXtended Time Simulation) covers dynamic conditions such as transfer of liquids, system control changes, and transients such as pump start- stop, valve open-close, control valve setpoint changes. AFT Fathom 6.0 GSC (Goal Seek & Control) module automates a number of operations currently done iteratively in Fathom. A simple example would be determining what pump speed will yield a desired flow at some remote part of the system. AFT Fathom 6.0 CST (CoSTing) module will allow Fathom to calculate a wide range of equipment and operating costs associated with the system design, including energy costs for pumps.
