CHEMPUTE SOFTWARE - JANUARY 2002 NEWSLETTER ============================================== NEW SOFTWARE RELEASES ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ COMPRESS - Pressure Vessel Design Version 6.4, Build 6168 (CD-ROM), including 2001 ASME Code Updates. New CD's have been shipped to all clients that have current Maintenance Agreements. TUBESHEET - Heat Exchanger Mechanical Design The new TUBESHEET (Windows) add-on module for Compress has been released in Beta format and sent to current users of TUBESHEET for DOS. This allows full mechanical design of Shell and Tube heat exchangers, including tubesheet layout. Codeware is in the process of adding floating head configurations to the software. Tubesheet currently addresses TEMA tubesheets, but ASME tubesheets will be added later. PVELITE Version 4.3 - Pressure Vessel Design The latest version on CD-ROM with 2001 ASME Code Updates has been sent to all users with current Maintenance Agreements. This update includes new dynamic response spectrum, tailing lug and leg baseplate analyses, modal natural frequency solver, addition of IBC2000 earthquake code, PD5500 Annex F nozzle calculations, new graphics and other features. CODECALC Version 6.4 - Pressure Vessel Component Design The latest version on CD-ROM with 2001 ASME Code Updates has been sent to all users with current Maintenance Agreements. This version includes tailing lug analysis in the basering module, trunnion analysis and automatic WRC analysis on the trunnion, baseplate design for vessel legs and static head input in the nozzle module. Also split screen graphics, Div1/Div2 materials in WRC107 and pneumatic hydrotest calculations. CAESAR 4.3 - Pipe Stress Analysis Build C2011217 was posted on the COADE website on 17th December, and corrected a number of problems reported by users. The new build is available for download only, and is not being distributed on CD-ROM. The build only applies to users of Version 4.3. http://www.coade.com/fcaesar.htm HELIX DELTA-T Ver 5 - CONVEYOR DESIGN (ISO/CEMA) Previous versions 3 and 4 Professional have been replaced with this new Version 5. Users may select the entire Code, or individual subsections. The latest version provides the ASME Code in Acrobat PDF format, which can be searched, hyperlinked, bookmarked, printed, zoomed etc). The most popular option is the "Non-Nuclear Set" which includes ASME Sections I, II, IID, V, VIII, IX, X, Code Cases, Interpretations, ASME Referenced Stds (Hundreds of additional codes e.g. B16.x Flanges, B31.x Piping). This bundle is priced at less than 50% of the price of individual modules, and is priced at $2850. CHEMOFFICE 2002 This popular suite of desktop chemistry software from CambridgeSoft USA, used for chemical drawing, 3D molecular modeling, chemical database searching, and molecular mechanics calculations has been updated and rearranged for 2002. It now incorporates the complete Merck Index 13th Ed and the new E-Notebook module, as well as many new features.
