NEW SOFTWARE RELEASES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CAESAR 4.50 - Pipe Stress Analysis
New Build 040220 (20th Feb) provides significant improvements
to the 3D Hoops Graphics in terms of speed, and printing issues.
The build (20Mb) may be downloaded from
http://www.coade.com/fcaesar.htm
COMPRESS - Pressure Vessel Software
Build 6228 (18th Feb) has some new additions, one of which is a
context sensitive help feature. From any dialog, the 'F1' key
will now open the COMPRESS manual at the section relevant to the
current cursor location. There is also new error reporting
detailing the state of COMPRESS when a program crash occurs.
This feature creates a crash report and allows the user to email
it to Codeware for problem resolution. Download from:
TANK - Storage Tank Design (API 650/653)
Version 2.50 is currently in beta phase, and will be released
shortly. Some of the new features:
Incorporates the computations for Cycle Life from API-650
Appendix M. Includes an alternate method to determine nozzle
stiffnesses, from PVP-1279. Incorporates API-650 10th Edition,
Addendum 3, including new bolting requirements, and API-653 3rd
Edition, Addendum 1. Includes a revised output processor, for
easier usage. Incorporates the ability to check for web site
updates. A new User's Manual (available on-line only),
accessible from [Help]. For general program description:
ACCIDENTAL CHEMICAL RELEASES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With regard to several recent press reports on the accidental
release of hazardous or toxic chemical or gas clouds into the
atmosphere, it should be noted that software is available to
analyse and prevent these situations. BREEZE HAZ software
includes several air dispersion models, as well as
fire/explosion models. This provides for real time emergency
response, HAZOP planning, Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA's),
and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA's)etc, in line with
regulatory requirements. For a description of BREEZE products,
as well as for downloadable trial software, go to:

Chemical Releases can be downloaded from:

FREEWARE
~~~~~~~~~
BIPHASE (provided by David Alvarado, Argentina)
This free program is used to calculate pressure drop, holdup and
flow regime for two phase flow conditions. Pressure drop
correlations include VDI (Horizontal/Vertical pipe), Dukler (no
slip / constant slip), Beggs & Brill, and Lockhart Martinelli.
Holdup correlations include Lockhart Martinelli, Hughmark, Eaton
and Beggs & Brill. Flow Regime is determined by either Baker or
Taitel Duckler methods for horizontal pipes, and by the Govier
method for vertical pipes. Flow regime maps are produced.
Choice of English or SI units. Download from:
