2000 CATALOG / FREE DEMO CD

Our new 2000 Engineering Software Catalog was despatched to
users earlier this month.  The "gold" cover was selected to 
represent the special occasion of the new Millenium.  The 
catalog contained an insert which offered users a free Chempute 
Demo CD - these will be despatched this week.  The CD is very 
useful as it contains all our software demos, as well as mirror 
images of the Chempute web site, and software supplier  
websites,  plus vendor multimedia software demonstrations,  
and free utility  software such as IE5, Netscape 4.7, WinZip 7, 
Acrobat Reader 4.0 etc.   This can save you hundreds of hours
of download time !!  

NEW SOFTWARE RELEASES

Chempute Software has recently been appointed the South 
African agent for Linnhoff March, which specializes in "pinch"
technology and water usage optimization.   Four separate
products are available:
   
SUPERTARGET - Application of pinch technology to  
minimize energy consumption by optimally integrating heat 
exchangers and/or distillation column heating requirements

PINCH EXPRESS - Takes flowsheet simulator output from 
software  such as ASPEN Plus, HYSIM, PRO/II, and 
WINGEMS, and automatically applies pinch technology
techniques to optimize energy usage within the plant.  Can
calculate immediate cost savings by implementing pinch
technology  improvements.

WATER TARGET - Application of pinch technology for 
minimization of water usage in a process plant, and 
calculation of potential cost savings. Identifies the best water
re-use, regeneration and effluent treatment opportunites.

STEAM 97 - Excel based spreadsheet add-in, with 
built-in  functions that calculate steam thermodynamic and
transport properties at each point in the model.  May be
used to model plantwide steam balances, with boiler models,
turbines, superheaters, deaerators, headers, exchangers etc.

NOZZLE PRO
A new software release from PAULIN RESEARCH, this package
is a standalone Finite Element analysis tool for calculating
stresses in nozzles that are attached to pressure vessels.
Includes nozzle fatigue calculations to ASME VIII Div 2.  Finite
Element techniques are automatically applied, so the user does
not need a prior knowledge of FE techniques.

The CASTI range of E-Books that covers applications of  
ASME  B31.3, ASME II, ASME VIII, ASME IX etc can now 
be purchased as a  CD version only (without printed manual). 
If you have no use  for the printed version, and prefer to use 
the computer for  browsing topics on these E-books, then 
you will find the lower  pricing of the CD-only versions to

STRUCTURAL STEEL TABLES - database containing the 
complete South African structural steel tables, with full  
dimensional  data, plus calculated values of centre of 
gravity, moments of  inertia etc. Download the SA STEEL 
TABLES file (188kB) from our  "Free Software" section on 
our download page at http://www.chempute.co.za/ftp.htm. 

These steel tables are supplied by PROKON, who provide 
structural engineeering software.  Details of their software

BINARY LIQUID VAPOUR PRESSURES  
Download this useful spreadsheet to help find the vapor 
pressure  of binary liquid mixtures with minimal inputs. 
The spreadsheet is based on the English version of MS 
Excel 97. Complete with a comprehensive list of Antoine 
Equation constants needed for the calculations.  Look at:
